Are explainer videos professional?
I hear this concern from people I speak with when they are considering whether an explainer video is right for their business. They often say “we need something more professional”. While I certainly understand the hesitation, that definition no longer differentiates between traditional live action and animation. Animated explainer videos today are becoming a professional standard. In spite of using cartoon style characters and maybe injecting a little humor these videos convey serious business information about new products or services. Explainers are also ideal for making very complex ideas understandable.
CEOs are people too!
Animation has been used in TV commercials forever. These were targeted at consumers and not C level executives but that’s the point everyone should consider. A CEO or CTO is also a consumer. They are just people. They watch TV including comedy programs like everyone else. They are busier than most and that’s even more reason to give them a simple explanation or company overview in under 2 minutes. Executives considering having an explainer video produced are concerned with ROI. Explainer videos have been proven to be effective marketing tools often helping take a business from struggling start-up to multi-million dollar company. Yes corporate image is a concern and some humor may be off limits but explainer videos work. They improve website conversion rates, improve sales, and help search results. What more can a CEO ask for?
